A sugar-free aşure sweetened entirely by dates, apricots, figs and raisins — the beloved communal pudding, the nFit way. Recipe by our dessert assistant Meltem.

Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpeas + 1 cup white beans (soaked overnight)
- 1 cup aşure wheat
- 10 dates, 15 dried apricots, 10 dried figs (soaked, chopped)
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup small-chopped orange peel
- 2 cinnamon sticks, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, a pinch of salt
- 14–15 cups boiling water
- 1 cup peanuts + 1 cup hazelnuts, halved
Method
- Boil the soaked chickpeas and beans separately until fully cooked.
- Simmer the wheat in the boiling water until it releases its starch, about 1 hour.
- Add the drained legumes; boil 10 minutes together.
- On low heat add the fruit, orange peel, cinnamon, nuts and grated nutmeg; simmer until thick.
- Cool and serve topped with pomegranate.
